Some time ago has Google begun to index books. The indexed books have been scanned and can be partially under books.google.com be read, in part or entirely online.

Now Google has, as for many of its other services, but also an API provided. This allows the "online viewer" for books in your page to be integrated. Furthermore, it is also possible to search on their own page in the inventory of books.google.com and present the results on your own site.

The documentation of the API, examples, and a Wizard to create the necessary code for your page there it under http://code.google.com/apis/books .

Below are a quick example that shows the API in action, and the "The Definitive Guide to Grails" embedded in my page.
