Having had our digital camera (Samsung L830) acknowledged by some Danish beach sand to their service, I am looking for a new camera.
Important to me are the following properties:
- good pictures without color noise even in less well-lit conditions
- faster shutter
- Good workmanship
- long battery life
In the short-listed the Canon Digital IXUS 90 IS and the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS15 came.

Do you have experience with either of the two models, or you can recommend a different camera?
I am grateful for every comment.

I can recommend the PowerShot A710 from Canon.
We have now been 2 years and now think it is also affordable. No fewer than 380 Euronen we had to shell out for it then, now it is in the Amazon (but used) for around 150Euro.
7 million pixels, 2.5 "inch screen and knick-knacks and a lot:)

@ Mario: The most important thing I have good pictures, especially in areas where many compact digital cameras tend to color and image noise. The product description can handle many cameras with non-optimal lighting conditions, but in reality it looks always different. How then are your experiences with the PowerShot A710?

I've bought for my father, the IXUS 80IS (I think an early predecessor of the 90IS). The only drawback so far: the service is getting used to because of the quite small controls. If that does not interfere with the cameras in the IXUS series, my opinion is doing wrong on anything.
Great feats in terms of image quality in compact spaces one can not but expect from ... where the IXUS still relatively subjective well come off.

@ Gklinkmann:
As I said, I'm actually very happy with the camera, although there are often times red eye, and even when the light comes in darker environments, also no specific results, but since I take most of Photoshop for the image the final touch to give (if was it a major).
This is a mirror reflection ran in no case, but it is small and handy:)

@ Mario: In terms of image quality leads, you have to have an SLR camera. But because of the size and weight, they are not suitable as a constant companion.
