With horror I have this week an article read about prejudice against older developers. Thus, there are the following five myths:
- Older developers are more expensive than younger ones, so youngsters are on the market demand
- Developers are older because of their legacy knowledge is less flexible to learn new technologies
- Developers are older because of their family obligations unsuitable for tough job developers (= long hours, agonizing hours at the PC)
- Older developers are mentally less agile than younger
- Older developers are jaded and cynical - against fire and enthusiasm of young developers bring in a project
Now, I'm still not 40 (as author) but no longer 27, as I always say. And the most important is really the family, but otherwise, "Bullshit. I'm not too old for this shit ". ![]()
