wordpress 2.2 - new features, fewer bugs

Last 7 days, she is outside, the version 2.2 of WordPress alias "Getz".

faster and better - Grails 0.5

It has even hinted at in the Java and XML Conference (Jax) in Wiesbaden, that is expected soon with a new version of Grails. Since 01.05.2007, the version 0.5 now from the download page of the Grails project will be downloaded. In particular, the performance has increased again. While I am still at my articles to Grails (currently based on version 0.3.1), the developers of the Grails version 0.4 with many new features completed. These include:

  • Especially GORM (Grails Object Relational Mapping) has been expanded. It now supports more types of relationships, is easier to deal with transactions and Where conditions and is now based on Hibernate 3.2.
  • A new plugin system was added.
  • Spring 2.0 is now involved and thanks to script syntax is better supported.
  • The unit testing of controllers and custom taglibs have been further simplified.
  • There are other improvements in the validation of constraints.
  • Unsafe HTML characters and URL parameters are converted automatically when scaffolding and taglibs.
  • 200 bug fixes have been incorporated into the system.
  • And last but not least, Groovy 1.0 is now under the hood.

There remains a nothing more than to switch, right?

Update: The installation went fairly smoothly, except for the installation directory of GRAILS. It was not possible to die than Grails in a path with spaces to make it work. Try it, however, as described in the Installation Guide, with C:\grails everything runs smoothly.

"The fastest browser in the world" - Opera in a new version

Is my personal favorite Opera browser is now available in version 9.1. The self-proclaimed "fastes browser on earth" comes with an advanced phishing protection, therefore, the pages visited compares with the databases by GeoTrust and PhishTank.

Opera 9.1

To test the domain name and a hash value of the URL to a server Opera is transmitted. Once this is completed there, the browser via XML file will be informed whether it is safe or unsafe side. In reviewing the entire URL is not transferred and also IP addresses and cookies are not sent. Opera promises no data to third parties.

In addition to this safety feature, a couple of bugs have been fixed so that the browser is still running stable. After a short test, I can confirm that at least when viewing Google Maps there are no errors. For a full list of changes is here .

Ok, the Phishing Protection also have Firefox and Internet Explorer. Who but like the Opera, creates a very fast browser, mail and chat client, a news reader, a download manager with BitTorrent support and widget player to just over 6 MB to accommodate and that too for all major operating systems makes available to the earned my respect and gratitude. I can only recommend all to try Opera, "it's really fast" :-) .

Unicenter r11 - new features

Among the commercial products, Unicenter NSM is one of the company about here is the version r11, a new version into the house. Here are a few details of what's under the hood is all so renewed.
