About the new features of Unicenter r11 I've already written.
Now a test installation show that r11 (version 11.1 for MS SQL Server) delivers what it promises.
A small downside to the same beginning. Who has believed that one could install r11 now via Terminal Services, which should not (like us) use Microsoft Windows 2003 Server. Not only that, the installation of Terminal Services is not possible, but even the installation of the console is only possible if you have configured only remote administration. Otherwise, you get this error:
At least in the documentation (items 4.9 and 6.8) there is an indication that we should not have set the Application Server mode on their Windows system.
Who was so eager (like us), may all be reversed and re-register at Microsoft's Terminal Services CALs.
So enough crying. If you have all survived to expect a fairly straightforward installation, the details (which is where I click on) some screenshots to illustrate.

After a reboot (which I love about Windows
) Gives you the best on the command line of a survey that all services run. Here you meet one of the first (was it really necessary) innovations. The command awservices status only displays the status of awservices. With awservices list gives the usual output. Here are some good scripts have to be adjusted.
The Management Command Center (MCC) is the augepeppte (pimped) Unicenter Explorer. This CA has done a lot for the acceptance of this tool to improve. In order to persuade him to work you have to DIA (the new D istributed I ntelligence A rchitecture) configuration. That you can have a DNS entry or dna.cfg on the file
(C: \ CA \ SharedComponents \ CCS \ DIA \ dia \ dna \ config \ dna.cfg) set. These two entries are needed in this file:
overrideSRV = yes # causes the entry MasterKB pulls
MasterKB = # server on which the Unicenter knowledge base (UKB) is
If you have made the entries, the following services are to stop and start in the reverse sequence rich again.
- CA DIA 1.2 Knowledge Base
- CA DIA 1.2 DNA
Speaking of CUE. It is the (pimped) successor to the master catalog and is a pivotal point for communication about DIA. For the configuration of DIA, there is a GUI
(C: \ CA \ SharedComponents \ CCS \ DIA \ dia \ ukb \ bin diatool.bat \).
The requested user is here the operating system administrator. But be careful here, you can do much to break. So just look and not touch's.
So now should also be possible to start the MCC. Here the user is expected nsmadmin whose password everyone should remember easily during installation. The surface then tomorrow we'll look at a little more closely.
