Since I belong to the people who use to write their blog posts is not the WYSIWYG editor, but still always want to take care of the HTML, I've always wanted something to pre-defined pieces of text (English snippets) to fit in and just in my listing to. The predefined by WordPress shortcodes are indeed a great thing, but too inflexible.

Where there's an app for smart phones, it's to WordPress plugins that fulfill this task.
The plugin of my choice is post snippets .

It meets my requirements in terms of the snippets and you can also create their own short codes also.
The creation, modification and deletion takes snippets (WordPress usual) in the settings. For a snippet can also be specified variables, which are powered only when inserted into the post with values.

Conclusion:
Who predefined text modules in His Word Press blog needs that can be dynamically adjusted on variables should be examined by post must Settings. To create their own short codes then you get this as a bonus.

It's been four days ago that the new WordPress version 3.1 saw the light of day. How quickly time passes after all.

Externally, changes only once, not so much time apart from the hidden speakers, you can switch over to the options again. Really useful is the simple linking of older products.

Other changes include:

  • better support for multi Side
  • The revised dialog for the import and export of articles
  • and a quick-access bar for example, comments

All changes are in the ChangeLog noted.

The upgrade went smoothly. The automatic upgrade feature is a blessing.

I'm not too long ago switched from Delicious to Zootool . The move I have not looked back since. The only drawback was a lack of bookmarklet for my iphone. It is only my RSS reader (Reeder) on the iPhone has a very convenient interface to zootool . The Mobile Safari is missing this.

No problem I thought. This issue will be before you've had others. But it took a while, until I found a solution. My solution was as follows:

  1. Copy of the javascript from the link on my desktop browser (who knows me will suspect that it was the Opera)
  2. Create a note in Evernote with the javascript content as
  3. Sync by calling the Evernote app on the iphone
  4. Copy of the javascript
  5. Paste the javascript into a newly created bookmark in Safari

Yes, I know - comfortable is different. An allegation can not make the zootool guys but, because shortly thereafter I found the support section of this Zootool answer to the problem:

unfortunately the iPhone does not provide a simple solution to install bookmarklets. You have to drag the lasso iphone to your bookmarks on your computer at home and then you have to sync your bookmarks with your iPhone through iTunes. We know that this is pretty complicated and as soon as Apple provides an easier solution we will support it!

Or in short - do what Steve.

Mobile surfing with today's smart phones is perfectly normal, but there are differences - particularly in the screen resolution and the transmission speed.

As the owner of such a time shredder I'm always pleased when I come across a page that takes these differences into account.
And what one expects from others, you should also heed themselves. Especially when it's so easy to implement, as with WordPress.

The plugin WPtouch is the means of my choice and should be used in many other WordPress installations. A simpler installation, as the plugin section of WordPress there are probably no. Cautious natures should make a backup of the database. This, however, each time you install a plugin recommended.

The result after the installation is already quite impressive. Of the extensive configuration options, the plugin's own ideas to be adapted.

Besides WPtouch also a pro version is available, which then also supports the iPad.
