Just because I use the Opera for the best (and fastest) browser in the world believe, it has me interested once, which browsers (under which operating systems) is being accessed on my blog. for the past 30 days, gives a clear picture. Firefox is the clear winner. With 63.66 percent (on all operating systems), he outclassed Internet Explorer (25.15 percent) clear. Even my Opera comes with just under 6 percent did not come off so badly.

As I just now at blog-parade.de would have read iKA know what uses the blog community as a mail user agent (MUA).
This is a nice occasion once again sing the praises of my "Norwegian IT army knife" of the Opera.
The main advantages for me is that he really cope with a lot of mail coming and they do not like Outlook stores, in a single file but in the known Unix mbox format. Since I work with Windows (office), Linux (business and private) and soon also with MacOS (private) work, I can access my mail platform independent. This part of all Microsoft products. In addition, Outlook comes with a mail Storm cope very badly. Anyone who has ever experienced this and was due to the shortcomings of Outlook for 2 days to pick up any mail until the mail had reduced the admin account on the mail server that willingly dispenses with the additional components such as calendars and task management.

So now I have enough cursing to Outlook. Here in brief are the pros and cons of Opera Mail.

Benefits

  • across platforms, e-mails in the same format on Windows, Linux and MacOS
  • can handle large amounts of mail and does not manage them in a large file
  • on the e-mails can be extensive filtering (with regular expressions) set so that the mail is physically present only once, but she appears in several virtual folders
  • gets along with both POP3 and IMAP
  • Mails can be the basis of contact, find the type of labels or attachments very quickly
  • high performance
  • Perfect integration into my favorite browser
  • not to forget and news feeds and mailing lists supported

Disadvantages

  • The search function could be more comfortable
  • lack of calendar and task management component, but this is not the ordinary tasks of a mail client

Anyone who knows me knows that I think the Opera for the swiss army knife of browsers. There is certainly the browsers that are better in some functions (eg Firefox, when it comes to plugins or AJAX), but no other browser works on different operating systems (Linux, MacOS and Windows) as well as consistent Opera.
Now he stands in the current version 9.2.2 is available. There have been improved, especially the rendering engine in terms of better representation of the content on Windows Vista and BitTorrent functions.
Of course, some bugs have been fixed, so that the small, fast browser with mail, instant messaging, BitTorrent and newsreader function has become even safer.

Is my personal favorite Opera browser is now available in version 9.1. The self-proclaimed "fastes browser on earth" comes with an advanced phishing protection, therefore, the pages visited compares with the databases by GeoTrust and PhishTank.

Opera 9.1

To test the domain name and a hash value of the URL to a server Opera is transmitted. Once this is completed there, the browser via XML file will be informed whether it is safe or unsafe side. In reviewing the entire URL is not transferred and also IP addresses and cookies are not sent. Opera promises no data to third parties.

In addition to this safety feature, a couple of bugs have been fixed so that the browser is still running stable. After a short test, I can confirm that at least when viewing Google Maps there are no errors. For a full list of changes is here .

Ok, the Phishing Protection also have Firefox and Internet Explorer. Who but like the Opera, creates a very fast browser, mail and chat client, a news reader, a download manager with BitTorrent support and widget player to just over 6 MB to accommodate and that too for all major operating systems makes available to the earned my respect and gratitude. I can only recommend all to try Opera, "it's really fast" :-) .
